With over 25,000 Slokas, Narada Purana is the third largest Purana and covers a wide variety of topics. It is considered to be a gem among Vaishnava scriptures and is the authentic source of Pancharatra Agama (Agama Sastra defines the rules and methods of Worship for a deity including the process and procedure for establishing idols at both house and Temple).
Narada Purana covers the narrations of Mrukandu Mahrshi, Markandeya Maharshi, Markandeya visiting Bhagwan Vishnu during Maha Pralaya, glories of Ganga, Prayaga, Ganga’s descent to Earth, Vamana Avatara, Prayaschithas for different types of known and unknown sins.
Narada Purana is also an epitome of procedures to be followed in temples such as Dwajarohana: the procedure of setting up a Dwajasthamba in a temple.
It covers various Vrathas such as Hari Pancha Ratra Vratha, Masopavasa Vratha, Dharmas of various Varnas, various Ashramas, Mahatmya of Vishnu, Vyakarana (Grammar), Nirukta, Jyotishya, Vastu and much more.
